Boughton Aluph is a hamlet on the SE facing slope of the Stour valley 3 miles north of Ashford. It sits above the ancient Roman Road, now the A28 between Ashford and Canterbury. There is a cluster of properties around the 13th century Pilgrims Way All Saints church. Every June it hosts the week long Stour Festival of Early Music.

Why Live in Boughton Aluph & Boughton Lees?

Boughton Lees and Boughton Aluph are connected by a narrow tree lined lane marked “the Pilgrims Way”. Boughton Lees is a more modern village at the junction with the A251. It has a village cricket green, which now has a new pavilion and there is an annual fete. The houses and pub around the green have good views of the green one way and the long views over the Stour valley to the east. Through the year the village hall – known as the Iron Room is much used by clubs and societies.

As Ashford has expanded the village is now close to Goat lees and Kennington. This proximity to Ashford means the area is well served by schools and shops and there are buses along the A28 and the A251.

The parish council serves both and also Eastwell, an Estate and farm around Eastwell Manor, which is now a hotel and spa.

All together the area is a spectacular area of Kent Downs landscape that defines the north west rural edge of Ashford. There are several pubs and restaurants in the area and a long established farm shop at Perry Court on the A28.
