Travel between Welsh border is allowed for house moves after firebreak period ends
The guidance also confirms that travelling to move home, or other related activity, will be seen as a ‘reasonable excuse’ to enter Wales. Similarly, people living in Wales can travel to England despite being placed in a second national lockdown for the purposes of moving home or other related activity.
The guidance comes after the Welsh Government released an FAQ document covering the wider regulations across the country that will be in place following the end of the firebreak.
We welcome the news that the Welsh housing market can reopen, following its closure during the two-week firebreak. Buying, selling, and renting property will continue to play a vital role in supporting the economic recovery from the Coronavirus pandemic.
The restrictions on viewing properties will be lifted from Monday 9 November and importantly travelling to move home or other related activity is classified as a reasonable excuse to enter Wales. It is essential that agents continue taking all necessary steps to reduce the spread of Coronavirus, working in accordance with government guidelines, to avoid any further disruption to business and house movers and renters.
